Simon Murphy

Associate Financial Consultant

Born in Essex, Simon “emigrated” north shortly afterwards and now considers himself an honorary Yorkshireman having spent most of his subsequent years working in various towns and cities in North and West Yorks and always returning to his adopted home city of York to live.

With over 30 years financial services experience including 23 years working for two High Street Banks  as a Business Banking/Commercial Lending Manager, Simon is a seasoned finance professional.  

Since leaving banking Simon set up and managed a Commercial Finance Brokerage firm and also ran his own mortgage broking business.  Always one to go the extra mile he loves the challenge of putting together a difficult finance deal, though he also says he is happy to do any easy ones!

Most mornings Simon can be found networking over breakfast in his role as an Area Director of BNI “Business Network International” the worlds most successful referral organisation. He helps support member businesses to get more business by referral utilising their contact spheres and by subscribing to BNIs Givers Gain philosophy.

Simon has a keen interest in Personal Development an area where he also has business interests. He is interested and active in Currency trading and enjoys his time off relaxing with family and friends, watching football and rugby or keeping fit. Simon enjoys charity work and even spent his honeymoon in 2006 on a Charity Cycle ride through Cambodia.
